I just hung up after talking to a very intelligent gentleman that is so depressed because he is “stuck” in limbo. There is no worse place to be but there. He needs to make money to live, until he can do what he loves once again which is teaching English Literature. The reason I am blogging about this is, we all have talents and gifts that can generate the money we need. He didn’t realize, until we spoke, that business owners are looking for someone like him that can edit, proofread and write all the time
Every one of you reading this has a special talent that you can utilize to make money, you just have to ask yourself ”how can I generate Money with what I know? Who would pay me for my talent?” He is going to put an ad on Craigs list, and I guarantee someone will hire him to edit, proofread or write something for them. I will keep you updated.
I will leave you with this question: What would you do for FREE as a career if you did not need the money? That is step number one in knowing what you should be when you grow up.
Respectfully

I was reading THINK AND GROW RICH (again) and in one of the chapters it talks about a Chicago newspaper that printed in their paper that the brilliant Henry Ford was an “ignorant pacifist.” Ford brought a suit against the paper for libeling him.. While in court they put Ford on the stand and continued asking ridiculous questions. Ford finally said , why would I clutter my mind with such nonsense when all I have to do is push a button and I can summon to my aid men who can answer any question. Every person in the courtroom realized it was the answer, of not an ignorant man, but of a man of education. Through the assistance of his MASTER MIND GROUP Henry Ford had at his command all the specialized knowledge he needed to enable him to become one of the wealthiest men in America.

As a business owner who has owned and built several companies, if I could give one piece of advice it is this……do not try to grow your business alone. If you can’t afford to hire a business mentor like me, or someone else, then here are a few other ways to get help until you do have a coach in your budget
1. Listen to Business growth CD’s
2. Read Business growth books (The 4 hour work week, A whole new mind) are 2 I recommend
3. Form a mastermind group with big thinking business owners.
4. Search the web for free information about building your business..
I recently spoke for a group of masterminds that were helping each other for Free! There is help out there so DON’T DO IT ALONE.

I was on with my master mind group today and it was amazing that even though we are thinking bigger about our businesses there is still room for bigger thoughts
I shared 5 tips about brainstorming that I feel are good enough to blog about
1. Share lots of ideas (quantity is important)
2. Encourage WILD ideas
3. Defer Judgment
4. Be as visual as possible
5 One conversation at a time
Hope this helps those of you in a mastermind group that needs new energy
Have a great Tuesday……..

If someone would have asked me that question years ago I would have replied, I don’t have a coach I am not that into sports. That is what I thought it was all about . We now have business coaches, lifestyle coaches, career coaches, employment coaches etc etc. I do know this…..the people that take themselves seriously, in business and in life have a coach. the people who want to go faster than most peoople in life… have a coach.
What can a coach do for you. Give you clarity, a plan of action, and also a shift in mindset. I was coaching someone today and it was fun to almost hear the mindshift happen on the phone. Sometimes we don’t see how big our businesses can grow without the help of an outsider.
Whenever someone says “I can’t afford a coach” my response is “you can’t NOT afford to hire a coach.”
Tune into my blog radio show on the 9th of February to hear about How Joint Venture Programs can help your business grow. If you want the number just email patricia@patriciadrain.com and I will send it to you.
